BioFoamPearls®

BioFoam Pearls® is a new, patented insulation material that is comparable to EPS. It has the same structure and similar qualities as EPS. BioFoamPearls are manufactured by polymerizing lactic acids, which are expanded with CO2 extracted from the air.The lactic acid is obtained by fermentation of plant residues. BioFoamPearls® is the first foam insulation made from a plant-based material. This means that BioFoamPearls®, just like EPS, can be reused. Moreover, it is also biodegradable and industrially compostable under high temperatures when introduced to humidity and bacteria. BioFoamPearls® is the first organic foam insulation in the world to have received the Cradle-to-Cradle certificate. BioFoam® products can be endlessly reused without quality loss in accordance with the Cradle-to-Cradle-principle. BioFoam® also dramatically reduces CO2 emission. The energy needed for production is the lowest of all insulation materials which are for the most part durably generated.
